Amreli
History

It is believed that during the year 534 AD, Amreli existed as a city place with name Anumanji. After that the name was Amlik and then Amravati. The ancient Sanskrit name of Amreli was Amarvalli. Initially Amreli was the part of Former Gaekwad of Baroda. During Gaekwad regime in 1886, the compulsory and free education policy was adopted in Amreli for the first time. After independence the district became the part of Bombay State and a separate district in Gujarat State after the bifurcation of Bombay State. Amreli District is an administrative district in the state of Gujarat in India. The district headquarters are located at Amreli. The district occupies an area of 6,760 km² and has a population of 1,393,918 of which 22.45% were urban (as of 2001). From Amreli district maximum number of NRI in USA from Saurashtra. Temples
Shree Ravi Randal Mandir

Shree Ravi Randal Mandir, one of the historical and religious centers in Gujarat, is situated about 85 km from Rajkot in south Gujarat. The temple of Ravi Randal Mataji, the daughter of Lord Vishwakarma, is more than 1,100 years old. 3000 to 4000 visitors arrive every month at Dadva to express their devotion towards Ravi Randal Mataji. The goddess, benevolent by nature, is believed to grant the wishes of her devotees. Wildlife Sanctuaries

Pania Wildlife Sanctuary, an extension of Gir Sanctuary, is located in Amreli District of Gujarat. Spread over an area of 39 sq km, this sanctuary is home to a large variety of flora and fauna. Scintillating Special Holidays with us.

This sanctuary was established with a view to protect the chinkara. Besides chinkara, major fauna found here include lion, leopard, hyena, wild cat, civet cat, spotted deer, bluebull, wild boar, four homed antelope, pangolin, python, peafowl, porcupine, desert cat and fox. Visitors are advised to visit this sanctuary from November to March. Accommodation facilities are available at the PWD and Panchayat Rest House in Dediapada, 30 km from the sanctuary.
