Gaya
Gaya district is a district in the state of Bihar with its headquarters located at Gaya town. Gaya is 100 kilometers south of Patna. Mahabodhi Temple
The Mahabodhi Temple, which is located in the temple complex and is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The present tree is said to have been descended from the original one. It was earlier taken by Sanghamitra, King Ashoka's daughter in 3rd century BC. There is also a red sandstone slab which is under this tree and is the throne on which Buddha sat.
