Munger
Munger, a city known for its rich and diverse cultural legacy, is situated in the Bihar and comes under the district of Munger. Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary

Munger fort
Munger fort is the most important and popular fort created on a rocky eminence projecting to river Ganga that wrapped from west and partly from the north. Munger fort covers an area of 222 acres and has a route of 2½ miles. The rampart is 30’ thick having 4 inner wall and 12’ outer wall. The fortification was provided by four gateways with circular and octagonal fortress at regular intervals, carrying the usual battlements. Lal Darwaza is preserved with some designable curved stone, which originally belonged to Hindu and Buddhist structure. During social conflict at the time of Lord Clive, the fort was garrisoned by some external force. The fortifications are not being properly maintained and thus turned into ruins to a large extend.
