Tuensang

Tuensang District lies in the eastern-most part of Nagaland. It is bordered by Myanmar in the east, Mon District and the state of Assam in the north, Zunheboto and Mokokchung districts in the west and Phek District in the south. It is the homeland of the Changs, Yimchungers, Khiamungans, Sangtams, Semas and Phoms. These tribes have a rich cultural heritage. They wear colourful dresses. Tsokum Festival
Harvest Festival
Tsokum festival is celebrated by the Khiamniungan tribe of Tuensang District in Nagaland, during the month of October. It is associated with harvesting and during the festival animals are sacrificed to appease the tribal God. The next day, the male members of the tribe repair the roads and bridges between the villages and to their Khetis. The festival is an occasion when permission is granted for the right to harvest and to test new crops. Each warrior of the village displays his hunted animals during the festival. Chungliyimti
Chungliyimti village is located in Tuensang District of Nagaland. It is about 55 km from Tuensang town. Visit India with Indian Travel agent.
The village is famous for Longtrok, an arrangement of ‘six stones’. The Ao Tribe settled and stayed in this village for a considerable period. According to local myth, Ao ancestors emerged from this location.

Longtrok
Longtrok is located at Chungliyimti, 57 km from Tuensang, in Tuensang District. Longtrok means six stones in Ao and Sangtam language.
